Cambridge International AS & A Level results will be released on the 11th of August 2026, and Cambridge IGCSE results will be released on the 18th of August 2026.
How you access your results will depend on the Exam Centre where you wrote your examinations. Some Exam Centres will provide login details for you to view your results online, while others might send your Electronic Statement of Results directly to you. If you are unsure how you will receive your results, ensure you contact your Exam Centre ahead of time to avoid unnecessary stress.
Understanding Your Results
- Cambridge IGCSE:
Cambridge IGCSE grades are awarded using the symbols A to E. - Cambridge International AS & A Level:
If you completed only the AS Level component of a Cambridge International AS & A Level syllabus, your result will be awarded using lowercase grades (a–e).
If you completed the full A Level, your result will be awarded using uppercase grades (A*–E). - Ungraded, No Result, or Pending Results:
A ‘U’ symbol across all levels indicates an Ungraded result. This means that the candidate did not reach the minimum number of raw marks required to be awarded the passing grade for that syllabus. - A ‘No Result’ status means that Cambridge is unable to issue a result for this syllabus. This is typically because the candidate was absent for one or more required examination components. If you were present and completed all components for a syllabus but have still received this status, contact your Exam Centre for further information.
- A ‘Pending’ status means that Cambridge is not yet able to release the result for this syllabus. Cambridge will already have been in contact with your Exam Centre regarding the delay. If you receive a Pending status, please contact your Exam Centre for further information.
What now?
It is important to remember that your results are not the end of the road. If you do not achieve the grades you were hoping for, there are still options available to help you reach your goals.
Results Enquiries (Remarks):
If you believe your result does not accurately reflect your performance, you can request a remark (Enquiry About Results) within a period of about a month after results are released.
Remark fees and deadlines vary from one examination series to another, so please contact your Exam Centre for the relevant information.
Remarks can be requested per examination component, rather than for the entire syllabus. Before deciding whether to request a remark, ask your Exam Centre for your component breakdown, which will show the raw marks you achieved for each paper (component). You may find that one component was significantly lower than the others, allowing you to request a remark only for that paper.
It is also advisable to consult the official Cambridge Grade Threshold tables for that series to see where your raw marks fall:
IGCSE: https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/programmes-and-qualifications/cambridge-upper-secondary/cambridge-igcse/grade-threshold-tables/
AS & AL: https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/programmes-and-qualifications/cambridge-advanced/cambridge-international-as-and-a-levels/grade-threshold-tables/
These tables show the minimum raw marks required to achieve each grade for the specific paper that you wrote. If you were only one or two raw marks below the grade you needed, submitting a remark request may be worthwhile.
It is important to note that a remark does not involve re-marking according to different standards. Your final grade will only change if the senior examiner determines that marks should have been given for responses that were not awarded during the original marking process.
Rewriting/Retaking:
If your component breakdown shows that you did not meet your goals in two or more components, or if you did not achieve the grade required for your further studies, it may be worthwhile to register for the syllabus again in the next examination series. Your component breakdown can help you identify areas where additional preparation is needed, allowing you to tackle the next sitting with greater confidence. Check with your Exam Centre for their re-write/re-take registration deadlines.
June Series –
If you are registering to rewrite in the June series, you simply register for the subject as you would for any other examination. There is no need to indicate that it is a rewrite.
November Series –
For the November series, the process is slightly different. By the time June results are released in August, the standard registration deadline for the November examinations has already passed.
In this case, you should inform your Exam Centre that your registration is a retake. This allows the late entry penalty fee to be waived, so you pay the standard examination fee rather than the late registration fee.
It is important to note that the ‘retake’ status is only an administrative classification for registration and fee purposes. It does not appear on your certificates or statements of results, and there is no indication of how many times you have attempted a syllabus.
